A Family Profile of Reginald Campbell

Mr. Reginald Campbell was the author of the famous book, “Teak Wallah” and founder of Asian Arts Private Collection. Born and raised in England, graduated from Cambridge, and then entered the British Naval Intelligence as a Naval Officer. After resigning his Naval position, he was immediately hired by ANGLO-BOMBAY-BURMA Company, a conglomerate engaged in the exportation of teak wood from Siam. During this time, he showed a growing interest in acquiring ancient Chinese, India, Siamese Buddhist artifacts and relics of that region. Mr. Campbell collected an extensive array of ancient religious antiques and artifacts which after his untimely demise his grandchildren were made beneficiaries.
